Schona Jolly KC  is amongst 14 eminent authors who have contributed to a recent compilation of essays, published by the British Academy and Oxford University Press. She writes on the Rule of Law Across the World: A system in crisis?

The publication has been reviewed in the Law Society Gazette. David Glass writes “Judicial Independence under Threat has an eye-catching title but a deep purpose. This can be summarised in the concluding paragraph of Lord Thomas’s essay, namely that ‘What matters is the judiciary should be proactively vigilant, particularly when times are good. There is no time for complacency or a lack of vigilance’. This has echoes of Thomas Jefferson, for whom it was said that ‘the price of liberty is eternal vigilance’. The book is an absorbing read and deserves to attract a wide audience.”
