Profile
Simon Dyer was called in 1987 and has specialised in clinical negligence claims since 2000. He has specialised in personal injury claims since 1990. He acts mostly for Claimants and is instructed largely by specialist clinical negligence and personal injury firms.
Simon has had a very busy year in 2009. He has been instructed in many high value cases including a £5m claim for a brain damaged teenager; several child cerebral palsy cases; and delayed diagnosis of cancer cases. He is usually instructed as sole counsel and conducts hearings, conferences and roundtable meetings, as well as drafting complex pleadings, including large schedules and written advice. As can be seen from the cases in his full profile he has a serious clinical negligence and personal injury practice and is regarded highly by solicitors from recognised firms.
He is recommended in the Legal 500 2009 for Personal Injury who describe him as "an able negotiator and clear advocate".
He is currently recommended in Chambers and Partners 2010 for both clinical negligence and personal injury. Chambers and Partners 2010 say:
"a very able and engaging junior who connects very well with his clients. He fully contributes to the matter in hand and condenses complex arguments into simple language ,so that clients feel they have understood their case"
and "Good all-rounder" Simon Dyer enters the tables this year after receiving recognition for his "practical approach and sensible analysis."
