Profile

Akua Reindorf specialises in employment law and discrimination. Her Employment Tribunal practice covers the whole range of employment law and she appears for both Claimants and Respondents. She is instructed by unions, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, voluntary sector organisations and large Respondent clients such as Marks and Spencer, Asda and Michael Page International, as well as individuals and small Respondent companies.

Akua has several reported cases in the EAT and appears there frequently, sometimes under the ELAAS Scheme. She has been led in the Court of Appeal, House of Lords and European Court of Justice. Most recently she was led in the House of Lords by Robin Allen Q.C. for the successful Appellant in Ahsan v. The Labour Party, a long running race discrimination case in which Akua and Robin appeared from first instance. She appeared at Strasbourg in a complex equal pay matter (led by Karon Monaghan Q.C.).

Akua has undertaken pro bono training for the Racial Equality Councils, FRU and trade unions. She takes part in the Cloisters Employment Law Seminar series.
