Overview
Cloisters was founded by barristers with a common goal of fighting for the rights of the individual. In over 50 years of practice, members of chambers have appeared in numerous leading cases.
Members undertake the whole range of civil court, tribunal and appellate work from the smallest claims to high profile cases in the House of Lords and European courts. They are retained as advisors to the three equality commissions - Commission for Racial Equality, Disability Rights Commission and Equal Opportunities Commission - and regularly advise these bodies on new legislation. Other services include mediation; training for solicitors, in-house legal departments, HR professionals, the judiciary, trade unions and politicians; and regular legal updates.
Cloisters acts for both claimants and defendants in all its practice areas.
Led by Robin Allen QC we act for a broad and varied range of clients. The client list continues to grow and now includes 'magic circle' solicitors firms, in-house legal departments, local authorities, trade unions, law centres, high street firms and professional associations.
Cloisters continues to demonstrate its commitment to pro bono work through services supplied via the Bar Pro Bono Unit and the Free Representation Unit.

Complaints
Our barristers want to provide the very best service to our lay and professional clients alike, but we recognise that sometimes lay and professional clients may want to take up issues with us. Cloisters has a special complaints procedure which can be accessed here which sets out how we will deal with any complaint.
