Arthur Davidson QC is a specialist in the law of defamation and all aspects of media law. He also specialises in sports law and acts for many top sporting personalities such as Robbie Fowler, Des Lynam, Alan Shearer, Frank Bruno, Jimmy Hill, Kenny Dalglish and Roy Evans, as well as football clubs and other sports organisations.
Arthur Davidson QC was a minister in the Attorney General‘s Department between 1975 and 1979. From 1982 to 1983, he was Shadow Attorney General.
He was Legal Director of Associated Newspapers from 1985 to 1991 and Legal Director of Mirror Group Newspapers from 1991 to 1993.
He gave evidence to the Calcutt Committee on Privacy and Related Matters and to the National Heritage Select Committee for its Report on Privacy and Media Intrusion. He has also given evidence to the Supreme Court Procedure Committee for its Report on Practice and Procedure in Defamation.
