Charlotte Goodman
Year of Call: 2019
OVERVIEW
Charlotte has experience acting for both claimants and respondents in the Employment Tribunal, including complex, multi-day discrimination cases. She has a keen interest in both belief and disability discrimination, and during her pupillage she worked with Chris Milsom on a case establishing that ethical veganism is a protected belief. She also has experience considering the application of the recent Coronavirus laws to employment situations. Charlotte has recently been instructed in an education law case involving discriminatory behaviour by a university and a whistleblowing case involving a care home worker.
Charlotte also acts for claimants in personal injury and clinical negligence cases, including assisting with catastrophic injury cases, advising on merits and quantum and drafting complex schedules.
Charlotte commenced pupillage in October 2019 and was offered tenancy in July 2020.
Before coming to the bar, Charlotte worked as a law clerk for the Arizona Capital Representation Project, conducting research and drafting motions for post-conviction proceedings in death row cases. Charlotte previously interned with the Bar Pro Bono Unit (now Advocate) as a caseworker for employment and immigration cases. Charlotte also has experience working with digital campaigns, and in 2017 created a tool that used dating apps to improve the turnout of young voters in elections.
