Cloisters’ Sheryn Omeri has been invited by the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) to deliver a guest lecture on Non-standard forms of work/Gig Workers as part of BIICL’s inaugural International Labour Law course, commencing on 14 November 2022.

Sheryn was junior counsel for the lead-Claimant Uber drivers in the seminal gig economy case of Aslam & Farrar v Uber BV & Ors, the first gig economy case to reach the UK Supreme Court. Sheryn also represents Australian Uber drivers in employment status litigation against Uber pending in the Federal Court of Australia. Sheryn is the only barrister in the world to be instructed on employment status proceedings against Uber in different jurisdictions across the world.
