Rebecca was called to the bar in 1998 and took silk in 2020. Her practice specialises in employment and discrimination law and she also has particular experience in industrial relations. In addition to acting in litigation, in the Employment Tribunal, before the Certification Officer, in the High Court and appellate courts, she is frequently instructed outside the litigation process, whether as an investigator, advisor, mediator or to determine grievance or disciplinary issues.
Rebecca frequently writes and lectures on employment law, and co-wrote (with Eady J) the Equal Opportunities division of Harvey on Employment Law and Industrial Relations for 12 years. She is active in the legal community, former Chair of Industrial Law Society, currently serving as a Vice President of ILS and as EDI officer for the South Eastern Circuit. She has been listed in Legal 500, Chambers and Partners and other directories as a leading practitioner for many years.

Frequently instructed by various universities in both internal procedures (e.g. supporting grievance of disciplinary panels, conducting appeals against dismissal under university statutes), to conduct investigations (generally in relation to very senior employees), and in litigation. Many of the internal instructions are confidential, but non confidential work includes:
o Investigation into Vice Chancellor of Buckingham University
o Equal Pay Litigation concerning professors, for Royal Holloway.
o Multiple discrimination claims, for example acting for University of Exeter, Imperial College.
I have also received multiple instructions in cases involving allegations of antisemitism, and in 2022-23 investigated allegations of antisemitism in the NUS which published my primary report.
