Senior Coroner finds death of 13 year old girl would have been prevented by move to intensive care

Tamar Burton appeared for the family of Martha Mills who tragically died of sepsis at King’s College Hospital following a pancreas injury.

Senior Coroner Mary Hassell found that had Martha been transferred to paediatric intensive care earlier, she would have likely survived. The Senior Coroner was concerned that there was still a risk of death for paediatric liver patients at King’s and made regulation 28 Prevention of Future Death Report.
