Members of Cloisters Chambers are recognised leaders in human rights and civil liberties law, acting in many of the UK's most significant and high-profile cases. Building on Chambers' longstanding commitment to protecting fundamental rights and advancing equality, members are regularly instructed to advise and represent individuals, organisations, public bodies and interveners in complex domestic and international human rights matters.
Our barristers combine expertise across human rights, equality, discrimination, employment, public and international law, enabling them to advise on issues at the forefront of legal and societal change. Members are particularly recognised for their work in areas including artificial intelligence, sport, climate change, transgender rights, modern slavery and public inquiries.
Ten members of Chambers are appointed to the Equality and Human Rights Commission Panel of Counsel, reflecting the depth and breadth of expertise across the team.
Members regularly appear before domestic courts and tribunals, and advise on matters engaging the European Convention on Human Rights, equality legislation and wider international human rights principles.
