  • Marianne began pupillage at Cloisters in October 2025 and is interested in all areas of Chambers’ expertise.

    Before coming to the Bar, Marianne was a Senior Policy Officer at Maternity Action. She worked on the employment and social security rights of pregnant women and new parents, preparing submissions to official consultations and leading the charity’s responses to the Employment Rights Bill. Marianne also ran the Alliance for Maternity Rights, a coalition of trade unions and campaigning organisations. 

    Prior to that, Marianne was the Senior Legal Officer and previously the Legal and Parliamentary Officer at the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association. She has also worked in a paralegal role for a partnership of immigration barristers.

    Marianne served as Secretary of the Human Rights Lawyers Association for two years. She has volunteered for the Free Representation Unit, the School Exclusion Project, and The Unity Project. 

    She speaks English, French, and Russian.
